The Human era, Holocene,[1] or Anthropocene[2] is the current time period, beginning in approximately the 10,000 BC with the end of the Pleistocene periodict, and ending with the Holocene mass extintion. The end of the Human era is marked by the extinction[3] or mass emigration[4] of humans, the Holocene Extintion which wipes out the last of the mammalian megafauna, and the beginning of an ice age.
