The Desert Turnip is a tuber-like plant that has evolved to live in the North American deserts of 5 million AD. They are a vital food-source for the desert's herbivores.
Ecology[]
The Desert Turnip is an ideal food source for herbivores organisms of 5 million years AD, since water is scarce many herbivores such as the Desert Rattleback gain their moisture from these turnips. They are a common food source at this point in time.
In the Documentary[]
A North American Rattleback and her young search for food across the harsh desert. Thanks to a helpful adaptation, a great sense of smell, she is able to locate the turnip in the Spinks' burrow, eventually after digging up the hole she finds and eats the tuber, gaining her moisture from the tuber (that is how she gets her water source).
As a result of digging up the hole the Spinks can become vulnerable to danger flying across the Future skies, the Deathgleaner.
